Photo Friday – Paraty Reflections

Paraty Reflections

I’ve chosen this instagrammed shot of a very rainy Paraty in Brazil for Photo Friday, because it won this week’s #WeRoam instagram competition! Taking part is simple: just tag your best Instagram travel shots with #WeRoam and @WednesdayRoamers, and follow WednesdayRoamers on Instagram.

Wednesday Roamers

The photo was taken in Paraty, in the “old town” district which is full of colonial Portuguese buildings. Paraty is known as a beach town, but on our first morning there it had rained so much that parts of the old town had flooded, and all the streets were full of huge puddles which made for some really pretty reflections. Incidentally, it was the morning of Brazil’s 7-1 loss in the World Cup semi finals, so in hindsight the weather was something of a bad omen.

If you have a great photo from South America, send it to info@backpacksouthamerica.co.uk to see it featured in Photo Friday.
